Next stop: Asker

Kjære venner,
It happened! I am getting transferred out of Trondheim. Yes, it is sad, but I feel like this next part of my life is going to be the best thing that has ever happened to me. They are closing down my area for a little while, and Sister Vega and Sister Leland are going to be companions. Wow our mission is SO young! I am going to be praying hard for those girls.
Really cool things that happened this week:
We met a satanist
We met like 6 people on the street that have met with missionaries before and a few of them want to meet again!
We met have been meeting with a burmese family and they fed us dinner last night! Those darn language barriers though!

My mind is blanking. But I love the work. I love the Lord. I love Trondheim, and I am looking forward to loving Asker (pronounced ah-sker).
Sorry it is short today, I got a lot to do!
Love you all so much,
Søster Williams
This is me and bishop and his kids. his wife has been sick...

and me and bro Myhren. He is the coolest and pretty much lives at the church doing family history all the time.

Two of my heroes

I found Grandpa!  There is a book called Lights over Norway.  My Grandpa Brown served here as a young missionary!

Those Whom I Hold Dear

I love being a missionary.
I have been thinking lately about how to touch the hearts of these people and find those who are ready for the gospel. I am not going to lie, it is pretty hard here. Everyone pray for the hearts of the Norwegian people to be softened and have them accept the gospel! They are wonderful great people. They just think they don't need God- and that is the biggest lie of all time because we all need him. a LOT.
I have come to be inexpressibly grateful for the gift of repentance and atonement lately. I know that through Jesus Christ, not only our behavior, but our very natures can be changed and purified. This knowledge and the experiences I have with that have become very precious to me, and fuels my desire to share that with others. This gospel works! I gotta tell everyone about it!
I must give a shoutout to my ward here. They are so faithful. Norwegians that have and treasure the gospel = my heroes. We had a Musikk Kveld (music night) on Friday, and wow was that interesting! they did a whole bunch of lip syncing to different popular songs of the decades. "they" is comprised of a bunch of older people in my ward. it was very interesting. I love these people though!
This week we saw the Northern lights! They were brilliant! WAY better than last time. different colors and everything. They were literally dancing across the sky!

My camera did not do them justice.

One more thing. We found a very cute Burmese lady on the street and met with her and her husband last night. There is a huge language barrier, but they are so sweet and I think truly ready for this gospel.
The Church is true. God lives. I love Trondheim. and I am pretty sure I'll be transferred next week.

There you have it!

Kjære alle sammen!
I love being a missionary. I am not going to lie, it is hard work. But is is work for the Lord, and so it is work that you can love. :)
This week we did something new! It was sister Leland's idea. She is a greenie with a ton of energy, which is really nice to be around on the days that we are together in a trio. She gives my companion a lot of strength and encouragement. Anyway! Her idea was that we draw that plan of salvation out on the sidewalk and walk through it with people. So we did! It was fun to be able to tell people that what we were doing was drawing their life out. :) I personally walked through with 2 girls that are probably 17 or so. They were actually interested, and they already have a belief in God. Major score!!! We will meet with these cute girls on tuesday. :)
Sometimes to proselyte, we will take a bus somewhere and talk to people on the bus and at bus stops. We did that this past week, and I talked to a young man. I told him about the book of mormon and read a little bit about faith with him. He agreed with it, and I asked if there was a day we could meet up and give him his own copy. He said yeah! We met on wednesday night, and I am not quite sure what will come of it, because we only had like 5 minutes to talk and there was some norwegian band having a free concert where we met up, bottom line is, this kid has a book of mormon now. I love sharing this book and my testimony of it. I hope he will take it and begin to read and that we can meet with him again.
miracle story! We were out street contacting one day. it was beautiful! The sun was shining, and I actually forgot how beautiful the world is when the sun is out! Anyway, the sun is shining, people are out, and seems like the perfect set-up to find a family to teach. (that had been our specific prayer before we went out- to find a family to teach) however, everyone said no to us. :( we were a little bummed. and then our appointment didn't show up so that was a double bummer. We get on the bus to go try some bonk backs, and start talking to this lady. she is interested and asking us questions! We asked if we could come and share our message with her sometime this week and she said yes, and what do you know, she is a mother of 2. There you have it- a family, just what we had prayed for!
I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to be working for God. I feel real joy in this work. Real joy in seeing what is important and helping other people see that as well. The savior Lives. I felt his love stongly this morning, and I know that through Him we can be clean and experience true joy. I am so thankful for my faith and knowledge and opportunity to share it. this life is beautiful.

Thank you for all of your love and support. It is needed and cherished. Continue to build your faith in Christ everyday and you will find joy.
Love,
Søster Stephanie Joy
