short and sweet

Miracles have not ceased in the latter days.

We have a baptismal date for B!

This week I am really thankful for the Sandvika Ward. The missionaries had a lot of investigators in church and the members were just so great at talking to them and helping them feel welcome. I am so thankful for these people here.

We had president with us one day this week- it was an adventure. He came at 9 to be with us during companion study and then was with us until 4:30 that night. It was crazy! We felt a little uptight the whole time he was with us, but it went okay.

Life is great. I am going to keep it short today- it'll give you more time to read the scriptures and remember Christ. I would challenge everyone to take a book of mormon with you everywhere you go and read it in your down time and find opportunities to tell others about it and share it. I love doing that! It's one of the best parts of everyday. :) I know Christ lives and loves us.

Thank you for your prayers and love! Continue to pray for J A and B!

Celebrating Norway!

kjære alle sammen,
Yesterday was the 17th of may, which is a huge holiday in Norway. It is like their 4th of July. It was so fun so see all of the Norwegian flags and the beautiful norwegian people in their traditional dress. I love Norway!
couple of great things:
We are teaching a Polish family. The first family that I am teaching on my mission! Only the dad speaks norsk, and not very well at that, but this week we went over and watched the restoration film with them in polish. They said that they will read to find out that Joseph Smith is a prophet. It is amazing that the church is growing so much that others can hear the gospel in their own languages. They are a miracle family! Fingers crossed that they will come to churchnext sunday
The guy from Peru is progressing. Beto is his name. Pray for him! :)
and we met a wonderful woman from Burma who invited her to her house for lunch. She is a truth seeker. Chandar is her name.
Jan Atle is still doing great. He is the highlight of this area. Pray for him.

Something that I thought a lot about today was that Christ is the bread of life. Just as the things that we eat become the substance and tissues that make up our bodies, the things that we read and think about and feel become the substance of our souls. We must always work to build our faith in Jesus Christ. He is the bread of life. and if we listen to his words, accept him as our savior and keep his commandments, that means that we eat of the bread of life. He promises that those who do this will have eternal life. what a marvelous gift! To never die? I am so thankful for the blessings of Christ and his resurrection. We celebrated the fact that we live in a free land yesterday- but as I took of the sacrament, I celebrated that fact that I live in a free state. That I can be free from sin.  I know he lives and is our Savior. How blessed I am to wear his name every day, and to bear his name for the rest of my life.
Thank you for your love and support! have a great week.

Asker is Still the Dream

Kjære alle sammen,
Wow! Transfer calls came and Sister Wood and I are both staying in Asker. I know we are going to see some amazing things happen here! One of them happened just on Saturday with a man named Beto.
We were walking down by the fjord in Sandvika- looking for people the Lord has prepared when we ran into Beto. We said we had a message about Christ and he said, "okay, should we sit down?" Well yes Beto, yes we should. :) So we sat down there by the water and gave him the whole first lesson and made an appointment to meet with him. We met with him yesterday, and gave  him a book of mormon in Spanish (He is from Peru). Amazing guy! He is sincerely searching for the truth. Truth-seekers are the best kind of people to teach. Those people that identify themselves as investigators.
The Lord has really blessed us with some more people to teach this week, which we are extremely grateful for. His hand is so evident in this work. We began to teach this guy named Michael- who has had some strange visions... and another lady from Africa that was taught by missionaries 6 months ago. This work is exciting!
One thing that is funny. One time Sister Wood and I were talking to a guy and he wasn't really very interested. Right before we left to keep walking, a bird pooped right on his shirt! A sign from God that he should have listened to us? It just might have been. :)
Things are well in this neck of the woods. One advice I would give to the members that are wondering what they can do to help with missionary work- give referrals to the missionaries! A referral does not have to be a non-member. It is an opportunity for the missionaries to teach. Refer less active members to the missionaries and give them information about them. Refer families that are going through a hard time that could us a visit- refer part member families. Just give them the "in" on your ward and the people in it, because they probably don't know that much!
I know that the Lord hears my prayers. He hears yours as well. Talk to and counsel with him sincerely every day, and you will see blessings beyond compare.
I love you all!
Mvh,
